Hey for complete info on these 67-72 body style Ford trucks go to Fordification.com This will be an easy build i bet maby now someone can do the Black Ford towtruck too? I think the Red Holden monaro would be a fun build, to graft in that 40's grill!!

the black tow truck wa a 70-72 as the grill and headlight inserst were missing but i think the top was chopped on it and the tow boom was homemade

Yeah, you are definitely going to beat me to it on this build. I wonder if it is even possible for me to have my MM2 car done by November?? Given that I am using the madmaxcars.com kit for the entire front end, and the boot is coming out to make way for some gas tanks, I only have the rear shell to repair. I think I can, think I can, I think I can.

At the Autorama, I asked a bunch of different car guys about 'louvering'. FYI, louvers are the little half-holes the red F100 has in two rows on it's hood. Or is it four rows? Whatever - I heard that just about any shop can do it, just call ahead to check. They said that places charge anywhere from $1.50 to $4.00 per louver. So there you go.

Really though not bad for a quickie, and like Humvee said it actually gives you an idea of where I am going with this.... Still I got a good chuckle out of it as well!

Yep I found a "Hot Rod" Louvering shop at $2.50 a louver, but it is quite distant (maybe 70 miles), Ill keep looking for a closer one.

Looking at the Truck in the film, I would guess they cut some panels out of a louvered Electronics cabinet and tack welded them in, you can see them flopping when it gets sideswiped........... Still, on that, I say accuracy be darned, I am having the "Actual Hood" louvered to replicate the same pattern, four rows, gotta get a good HDDVD screen cap to count the number per row...........

It actually snowed here last weekend so any major working on the F100 got stalled..... back at it in the morn!

SHE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K. so it snowed, and rained, and Hailed, most of the weekend..... but I got up Saturday with the sun (and there was a bit of sun) and got the F100 running.
It runs well, but the driveline is toast at least. I was told that it has "Tranny Trubles", but visually it is a U-joint. Ill get the driveling balanced, and put some new U-joints in it, and see what the trans has for me.............

Anyway, the Truck has obviously been neglected.... it needs Oil chainged, Tune up with new wires, Coolant flush, and I will be changing the oil in the punkin and tranny, but overall it is still in better shape than the old 68 longbed that gave its place in the yard so the Cobra Truck could come home.

Found a perfect starter vehicle for this project. Not sure the asking price though, it's not listed. Might get some people mad though, hacking up a pristine rig, but these old F100s aren't that hard to come by or that collectible for that matter (at least IMO).
