Hey Dave,if you are having over heating issues, you could always replace your copper/brass radiator with a new aluminum one and just paint it black to make it 'movie correct'.I know how you feel about staying true to the movie, but at the slow speeds you cruise, you really need to get the temp down on your engine or you will be cooking it.I just replaced the radiator in my 67 Mustang with an aluminum one from these same guys and it works AWESOME,and I also,do not have a fan shroud. The cost of the correct one for your rig is probably cheaper through them then buying a new copper/brass from a radiator shop. Here is a link to their auction.I set you up with a two row instead of a three row because the two row is actually thicker then the three row.

Thanks for the input, guys.

I got a 3 row radiator (copper) and everyone I talked to said it should be adequate. Add in the electric fan on the front and I should be ok for keeping it cool. I also picked up a mechaincal temperature gauge so I can keep an eye on things.

My friend at the shop told me the Machine's alternator wasn't doing the job and that's why it was so hard to start. So I'll be swapping out that too.

So the big Woodward cruise is this weekend, and I have a few days to get the Machine fixed. I have to get the front crossmember off (and I might have to use a cutting torch to do so), pound it back into shape, and put it back on. Then I have to get the old radiator off... by taking it out from the bottom. I hope it fits! Then put in the new one with the electric fan and hook up the fan's wiring. I also have to swap out the alternator and put in a temperature gauge. And bleed the brakes.

Wish me luck!

Good luck! :D

Hope you get it all fixed in time to take part of the cruise.
