A word of advice for anyone mounting or using a fuel tanks like in Road Warrior, as i showed in my previous post.
The tank is higher than the carb, gravity will get you..
I went to start my car the day after installing my fuel tank, and the starter was under load, and when it did crank
it would hardly run., sputtering , etc,, I pulled a spark plug and it smelled of gas. Crap... I pulled all the plugs and turned it over and it shot gas everywhere.
I changed the oil and there was plenty of guzzoline in it. Luckily it didn't damage the motor. I looped my fuel line
up inside the blower and stopped the flow for now, Ive seen rat rods and dune buggys with the fuel tank mounted high, so it makes me wonder if they all have fuel cutoff switches or
my carb is messed up.
i have a fuel cutoff switch on the way..the fun continues..

I used to run an electric fuel pump on my car until a guy told me his mate rolled his car and the electric pump kept going, mechanical pumps stop when the engine stops, so I enstaled a mechanical pump, playing it safe.
The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel, it'll take you ten minutes to hack through it with this, now if your lucky ? you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go !

Had he also installed the fuel pump cutoff relay which shuts of the fuel pump when the engine stalls, in case of an accident for instance.
Some people within the oldtimer club I'm a member of have replaced the mechanical fuel pumps for electric ones because of some problems they had with the mechanical ones. They installed a fuel pump cutoff relay or a 'shock relay'. Thats a relay that interrupts the current to the fuel pump when the car hits something for instance.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Well, the tired 400 finally let go. Its had low oil pressure and smoked since i got the car
so it was just a matter of time. I took it out for
a run and noticed the oil pressure jumping around
and before i knew it bam! White smoke everywhere
and a few flames. Good thing i have a fire extinguisher.. (Get one!)
threw a connecting rod out oil pan, the fuel incident a few posts up prob didn't help,
ordering a new motor. The fun continues.
