The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel, it'll take you ten minutes to hack through it with this, now if your lucky ? you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go !

:Real Steel:

Not bad, much better than its extremely limited promotion led me to believe, especially with Hugh Jackman and S. Spielberg as executive producer. While working in a the typical kid story (a Spielberg stamp) it remains pretty honest to the original Matheson/Twilight Zone story that had Lee Marvin as an ex-boxer trying to make a living when robots have replaced humans in the ring.

Be my guest :)

The original accounts in the thread have been banned (and in a few others). Unfortunately getting hard to spot and eliminate all of these - actual people are registering the accounts, and possibly even posting with them. But there are so many legit users registering accounts from gmail, etc, it's difficult to say for sure who is genuine and who is not, so unfortunately some dodgy accounts do get approved by me... then banned.

Alright then I'll throw in my 2 cents too.

Total Recall
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I went in with very low expectations, since it's a remake/reboot of one of my favorite movies. It's a pretty good action flick with plenty of nods to the original. Ignore bad acting. The script is based around the frame of Total Recall, so there's plenty of nods to the original. Some dialogue is word to word identical with the original and it's interesting to see acted out in a different way. Some scenes are identical too, some are 'inspired' by the original. This 'borrowing' from the original takes about half of the movie, the other half are original ideas and by the end of it the movie stands on its own. It's a very good flick for someone who likes the original, and just looking for those 'easter eggs' is fun in itself. From a regular moviegoer's perspective, it isn't as good, but it's a decent summer popcorn flick. Nothing too special, a lot of CGI and fights, the story isn't that thrilling (and SPOILER: It doesn't take place on Mars). Some acting choices were bad, and Kate Beckingsale's character didn't come off as menacing at all. In fact I think that character should've been killed off much earlier in the movie instead of trying to be the movie's main villain. As for the rest of actors, Jessica Biel's characters is... there. Collin Farrel is Collin Farrel, stuttering from time to time and doing that blank stare of his.
In summary, a pretty good movie for fans of the original, a decent but forgettable sci-fi for everyone else.

7/10 for fans of the original.
6/10 for everyone else.

Drive Angry with Nicolas Cage. I give about a 4 out of 10. I'm getting realy sick and tired of Hollywood chewing up precious vintage muscle cars. They act like these cars are still made every day.

I just saw "The Fighter" on Netflix, I don't get out to the movies much. It was good, maybe 7/10. I like Mark Wahlberg, something about him--not a mancrush exactly. And Christian Bale is amazing. I'll admit, I do have a mancrush on him, if I'd go gay for any guy, he'd be it :o . And I'd watch Amy Adams just standing there.

And the name of the robot in that episode was Battling Maxo :) .

Not really recently seen but it is a list of my movie collection on DVD and Blu-ray.
Red is last update. So those are most recently seen.
Green is previous update.
Sometimes there is a little text behind the title, but that mostly says it has no (dutch) subs.
Click on the title to be linked to IMDb.

There are some titles I've not seen. But those are scarce.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Taipan-
Thanks for the review of Total Recall. I haven't seen the new one yet and to be frank, I never really cared for the original. I always thought it was too cheezy. I've heard the new one stays more in line with the original Phillip Dick story, if so, I suspect I'll like it. Well, I HOPE I like it, because that director/producer team wants to redo Starship Troopers and get it back in line with the original book. I can't even begin to describe how disappointing that turned out.

Redd4-
I'd forgotten the name of the robot in the original! You can't go wrong with a name like Battling Maxo. A few years back I made a pair of 8' robots from the movie Sky Captain for a convention. Named one ATOM and the other EVE (the V was the square root sign). People liked them so much a couple drunks tried to steal them. Lucky for me they hadn't thought ahead enough to be sure they would fit in a compact car! Not that they had overcome the vestibule double doors....
