Wow, first post...


I went to broken hill to see the max sites in 98 (If I remember correctly, It was one of the first ever posts on the first board peter had). Anyway, Im glad that this Back to the max thing seems to be on again, Im seeing if I can get enough time off work to make it out there again.


I just hope all the people who had made plans (including international visitors) and were a bit pissed off last time when the whole thing was canned at the 11th hour will decide to go again.


Last time I went from sydney via country link trains & busses then it rained and my 2wd hire care got bogged in the fine mud heaps of times around the pinnacles. This time Im driving the AWD Subaru from sydney and doing it in style. Im heading from sydney probably on the thursday.


Whilst Im there Im thinking of stopping on the way back at a few places. A few (Including Bill Bryson) seem to rave about white cliffs so I may as well check it out. probably the menindee lakes as well.

For those who are driving, you might want to see if you can get some car pooling happening. If you split the fuel bill a few ways it will make the trip much cheaper. Also, it might be the only way we can get Sam Costanzo to drag his lazy arse down from Townsville and come to the event!


Seriously Sam, you have to come sonny, this is where we're going - Paradise!


So if anyone else is planning to come from the Townsville area, make sure to give Sam a yell. If we all pressure him enough he might feel really guilty, and come along. That's what peer group pressure is all about!

I for one would like to hear of the trip's exploits! What were the pinnacles like with rain. That would be my luck travel half the world, get there and it rain for seven straight days. lol
